What is unexpected is that the water used to irrigate the vegetable fields comes from the sewage that has been treated in the factory area. "Taste the water treated by yourself". Behind the bold decision is the company's sufficient confidence in the sewage treatment capacity.

In June 2014, Zhejiang Tianchen Glue Industry Co., Ltd. moved from the old factory to the current new factory, which not only changed the location but also changed the business philosophy. "As an enterprise, we must focus on the long term and be willing to invest in the use of sewage treatment technology. This is not only responsible to the society, but also to the employees of the enterprise." Zhang Hongqiang decided to eliminate outdated sewage treatment equipment that had been in operation for more than ten years, to improve the degree of automation by "one-stop".

Therefore, in accordance with the national three-level comprehensive sewage discharge standard, the company invested more than 10 million yuan to build a sewage treatment system integrating collection pools, regulating pools, seven reaction pools, sedimentation tanks and biochemical pools. In the past, it had to set up ladders for the manual cleaning of sewage, now these "dirty tasks" can be delivered to machines for automatic processing.

However, the bold decision to spend tens of millions of dollars on the daily treatment of sewage in the enterprise undoubtedly directly increased the pressure on the production and operation of the Tianchen Glue Industry. The controversy did not last too long time, and the remarkable results quickly strengthened the confidence of the company's management. After layers of treatment, the two key indicators of COD and ammonia nitrogen dropped below 70Mg/L and 10Mg/L respectively, far below the 500Mg/L and 35Mg/L stipulated in the third-level national sewage discharge standard. More importantly, the company produces 10 tons of sewage throughout the day at this stage, and the entire system can already withstand a sewage treatment capacity of 320 tons per day. The ample reserve space allows the company to focus on improving the quantity and quality of products. There is also no need to worry about the pressure of sewage treatment caused by scale expansion as in the past.
